Horses have always been a part of Josh and Sherry’s
lives starting at a young age from the show and rodeo
arenas to the oval race tracks. Sherry’s spent most of
her summers with her father at the Arizona Fair Meets
training and racing thoroughbreds and quarters. She met
and married her first husband, Roy May, a jockey and
trainer where together they continued training and
racing throughout New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Texas,
Pennsylvania , Michigan and Ohio.
Josh spent his youth in New Mexico, Kansas and
Nebraska learning the aspect of training, showing horses
from his stepdad, Charlie Barton while they operated
training, boarding and blacksmith facilities in Kansas
and Nebraska. Like all young guys, he spent his weekends
riding bareback broncs and bulls at all the local shows.
Josh also had a connection with the racing industry by
his step brothers and sisters who worked for Dewayne
Lucas, where Jerry worked as an assistant trainer and
Donna became a very qualified and winning female jockey
who continues her career today in the broadcasting
community. Although Josh spent his professional career
in the building industry, he maintained his connection
to the equestrian world in any way possible.
Josh and Sherry met in the nineties where they began
buying, training and racing quarter horses where the
natural evolution led them into breeding, raising,
selling and sales-prepping young horses. Today, they
maintain a total mare care facility in Southern Oklahoma
providing a full care and breeding services.
